RESOLUTION 1:
The Alert Log Viewer is located in the Database Menu | Diagnose | Alert Log Viewer.
Notes:
- The user account must have the EXECUTE privilege on Oracle's UTL_File package. The SYS schema has this privilege by default.
- This feature is only available in the commercial version of Toad with the optional DB Admin Module.
The alert log is a text file stored on the server that lists all messages and errors from an Oracle database. This file is a good resource for identifying issues with a database, but due to its formatting it can be difficult to read and assess.
The Alert Log Viewer allows you to easily access the alert log and review it for issues. It groups events on a single row in the grid, and the lower portion of the screen lists the lines associated with the selected grid row.

RESOLUTION 2:

1. Right click in the menu, select Customize.
2. Confirm that the Commands |Diagnose | Alert Log Viewer is visible.
3. Hold the left mouse button and drag Alert Log Viewer icon into the Database | Diagnose submenu.
