Unable to type or enter any text and no cursor control in SQL Edit
I am unable to type or enter any text and no there is cursor control in SQL Editor.
For Toad 8.6 and earlier:
Close Toad and rename your Toad.ini file located in \Quest Software\Toad\Toad.ini to Toad.old.
Toad 9.0 to 9.6.1:
1. Close Toad.
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\User Files folder.
3. Locate EditorLayout*.LAY files, there should be five of these files in this folder.
4. Rename all these file to an OLD extension.
5. Also locate and rename MainFormLayout*.LAY file.
6. Restart Toad.
Toad 9.7 and higher:
1) Fully Exit Toad
2) Go to
XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_USER>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\10.x\User Files\
Vista or 7:
C:\Users\<YOUR_USER>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\10.x\User Files\
3) Rename the following files:
a. EditorLayout_Hex.lay to EditorLayout_Hex.lay.OLD
b. EditorLayout_PLSQL.lay to EditorLayout_PLSQL.lay.OLD
c. EditorLayout_SQL.lay to EditorLayout_SQL.lay.OLD
d. EditorLayout_Text.lay to EditorLayout_Text.lay.OLD
e. EditorLayout_XML.lay to EditorLayout_XML.lay.OLD
f. MainFormLayout_default.lay to MainFormLayout_default.lay.OLD
4) Start Toad and re-test the issue.
