How does a Network administrator \ Helpdesk support install different options\bundles (i.e DBA, Knowledge Xpert, Tuning etc...) without login on as the user or providing the Authorization key to the individuals using the product?
The Toad installer file includes all the editions (Standard, Professional, Xpert). Each edition are enabled based on the authorization key that is entered. A network administrator \ Helpdesk support that has administrative rights to the computer(s) may enter or create QSAuth11.key. in the Toad install folder.
WORKAROUND 1:
Copy the appropriate QSAuth11.key file from an exisiting installation of Toad that is registered with the desired license key to the C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle directory.
WORKAROUND 2:
Create QSAuth11.key file:
1) Open NotePad.
2) Type in the the Authorizaiton Key (21 characters) and include the dashes on the first line.
3) On the second Line Type in the Site Message (Please note that it is case and space sensitive).
4) Save the file as QSAuth11.key in the C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle directory. This is the default Toad installation directory, if this directory was changed during installation then place the file in the appriate directory.
5) Verify in the Windows Explorer window that the QSAuth11.key file is created.
When the user logs on for the first time they should no longer be prompted for an authorization key. Refer to the attached QSAuth11.key file for assistance with the formatting of this file.
