Data Grid keeps displaying at minimum width, regardless of settings. -
Description
When executing a query, the data grid presents with all columns at minimum width so no data or headers are actually visible. You can rerun the query and then it usually displays the data according to the settings (Size to Data). You also right-click on the grid and select "size to data". However, these extra steps should not normally have to be used. -
Cause
Confirmed defect TOR-5051
The defect is that before the grid is ever displayed, the grid width is zero, so when it checks to make sure that the column is narrower than the grid, it isn't. It then set the column width to the grid width, which is zero, but then the minimum column width kicks in, which defaults to 20, and that's why all of the columns are 20 pixels wide.

Resolution
This has been set to be fixed for version 14.2.
WORKAROUND:
Go into Options -> Data Grids -> Visual. Check "Allow columns wider than grid width"
