Schema Browser crashes in VIRTUALBOX 4.0.4 environment -
Description
Platform: Windows 7/64 Enterprise on i7, 8GB RAM, all updates
VirtualBox 4.0.4r70112
Client Virtual Machine: Windows Server 2008 R2/64 with 2GB RAM, 2CPUs, 2Network Cards, and TOAD 10.6.1 current version just downloaded and installed.
Oracle 11g current version Client installed
Oracle Server Virtual Machine: Windows Server 2003 R2/32, 2GB RAM, 2CPUs, Oracle 10g2 Enterprise Database server.Steps to Repeat Problem:
1. Run Toad in Windows 2008 VM described above. OK
2. Connect to the Oracle 10g2 server as a Normal user. OK
3. Unclick the Toad Debug button
4. Select the "Schema Browser" menu option in the Database Menu.
5. The schema tables are displayed as expected.The virtual machine is completely locked up after displaying the schema tables and does not respond to anything.
The only thing that can be done is to "reset" the virtual machine. -
Cause
This is not a Toad issue
Toad has not been tested in a Virtual Box VM environment

Issue appears to be with the 'Guest Additions' portion of Virtual Box -
Resolution
The issue fixed in v 4.0.6 of Virtual Box.
A workaround appears to be to install an older version of Guest Additions; however, one will need to contact VirtualBox provider for assistance.
