Can't connect to database. "SQLNET Editor, TNSNames Editor and LDAP Editor all grayed out".
Description

Can't connect to Oracle 10g database on a Windows 7 OS. The install client area of the connection screen, returns error message "This Oracle Home is invalid".
SQLNER Editor, TNSNames Editor and LDAP Editor all grayed out.

Cause

10g client not supported on Windows 7.
Resolution

Windows 7 does not support Oracle Client 10g. Upgrade Oracle client to 11g 32 bit. This should establish a connection.
