How to move Toad for Oracle User Settings from a old PC to a new PC.
1. In your old PC with Toad for Oracle installed, open Toad and the Support Bundle (Help | Support Bundle) .
2. On the seven line, find and copy this path:
(Ex.) User Profile Directory :
For Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<Toad version>\
For Windows 7 and up:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<Toad version>\
3. Open a Windows Explorer and drill to this location.
4. Find the User Files folder.
5. Copy this folder to a secure location.
Do the same steps in the new PC with Toad for Oracle installed
6. Open Toad and the Support Bundle (Help | Support Bundle) .
7. On the seven line, find and copy this path:
8. (Ex.) User Profile Directory :
For Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<Toad version>\
For Windows 7 and up:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<Toad version>\
9. IMPORTANT: CLOSE Toad for Oracle.
10. Open a Windows Explorer and drill to this location.
11. Find the User Files folder.
12. Paste the contents of the saved User Files folder into the new User Files folder.
13. On new PC, launch Toad for Oracle.
14. The user settings should have been migrated from the old machine to the new machine.
Starting in version 10.6.1 connection passwords could be migrated to new machines if the user’s OS is the same.
