Double clicking on table in the Schema Browser gives an error message when weird characters in it (4250649)

I installed v10.1 along side v9.7. When starting 10.1 for the first time, I migrated my settings over from 9.7. If I go into Schema Browser and double click on a table, I get an error message that just has a bunch of boxes and no words.

This is an ODAC component issue we are waiting for a fix on.

WORKAROUND #1:
Use an Oracle client other than an 8i client.

WORKAROUND #2:
Select View | Toad Options | Data Grids - Data. Check the Display large numbers in Scientific Notation option.

STATUS:
Waiting for fix to be released in a future version of Toad for Oracle.

This only seems to be a problem if you are using an 8i client. Other Oracle client versions are fine.
