When I launch SQL Tuning from TOAD I get the error message "Class not registered" followed by an Access Violation message.
RESOLUTION:
There are 4 possible reasons for this issue.
1) Your license key does not have the Xpert module activated. You can check this under Help | About in the list of available options.
2) You have not installed the Xpert Edition of TOAD, you can download this from the support link site (only applies to version 8.0 and below).
3) Close TOAD down and all SQL Tuning modules.
Download the attached patch fix for this solution (Qprb.zip)
Extract the files from the downloaded zip file straight into your TOAD\Tuning_Lab folder (overwrite the original ones).
Restart TOAD and retest the issue.
4) You do not have the Microsoft XML Parser, TOAD requires this to launch SQL Tuning. You can download the XML Parser from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&displaylang=en
5) Uninstall Tuning module by running Unwise.exe located in the Tuning_Lab subdirectory of Toad home directory. Run ToadSQLTuning.exe from the same subdirectory to reinstall it.
