Toad Script Runner (TSR) not starting from SQL Editor - Error: 'Socket Error Code: 11001($2AF9))' and 'No Oracle Client' message shown in login window. -
Description
When trying to start Toad Script Runner (TSR) from the Toad SQL Editor, it is not possible to open it, or connect.
The error message:
'NET: Network error (Unknown host 'your_tnsnames_connection'. Socket Error Code: 11001($2AF9))'
Also, there is a message in the login window of TSR that stated 'No Oracle Client', as if it is not detected, even if Toad and SQL*Plus connect fine and can run the same SQL statement. -
Resolution
Open Toad Script Runner, and go to the menu: Edit | TSR Options | Oracle - and tick 'Use Oracle Client' tickbox.
Then restart Toad and TSR, and follow the steps to run a statement in TSR, and the connection will use the Oracle Client on your machine
