How to Compare Data for two Tables in two different databases?
For comparing data, use the menu Database | Compare | Data, once this window open up, use the F1 key to launch the help window for detail step on how to use this.
Or follow the step below:
1. Select a DB Link to a database (you will need to create a DB Link first; this can be done via Schema Browser | DB LINK tab).
NOTE: For Toad 11.5 and higher versions, using DB Links is now optional as you can now use a "Connection" instead of a DB Link.
2. Select object type (table).
3. Select schema or object owner.
4. Select object name.
Do this for both Data Source 1 and Data Source 2 (or Source Dataset and Target Dataset for Toad 11.5 and higher versions) and click on next and follow the wizard.
A DB_Link is no longer required in Toad for Oracle 11.5. Simply leave the DB_Link field blank and continue using the tool to perform the compare.
