Error "Test to SVN server failed" when trying to set up Team Project for Subversion (SVN) repository

The following error is displayed when clicking 'Test', on setting up a Team Project to link to a Subversion repository

The svn.exe file was not installed when installing TortoiseSVN client or location of svn.exe is not in the System Environment Variable 'Path'

Installing the svn.exe file is not mandatory when installing TortoiseSVN.  An option needs to be selected in order to install it.  Run the TortoiseSVN client installer, making sure to select the option to install the svn.exe file.  This is the file that Toad looks for that determines whether or not a client is listed in the VCS field.

In order for Toad to use an installed subversion client (svn.exe), the location of the executable needs to be in the 'Path' System Environment variable. e.g. C:\Program Files\TortoiseSVN\bin To confirm if this is a Toad issue, copy the contents of the 'Command' field to a Windows Command Line and run. i.e. svn.exe --username {username} --password ******** --non-interactive list "{servername}" If the command also fails there, then it may be that svn.exe cannot be found or is not installed.
