The date format changes when copied from the data grid into another area as text. It shows up in the data grid in the format of:
dd-MMM-yyyy h:mm:ss AMPM (i.e 28-Aug-2012 2:10:20 PM).
But when copy and pasted, it comes out as:
dd-mm-yyyy h:mm:ss AMPM (i.e 28-08-2012 2:10:20 PM).
Toad Options | Data | Display | Date Format is set to dd-MMM-yyyy. And time format is set to h:mm:ss AMPM. The NLS_DATE_FORMAT is DD-MON-RR or DD-MON-YYYY (both have the same issue).
Situation 1:
Click ON a FIELD and copy and paste it comes out incorrectly as 28-08-2012 2:10:20 PM.
Situation 2:
If you click INTO that same field and copy and paste the data from INSIDE that field the copy and paste works fine, with the same format as displayed, 28-Aug-2012 2:10:20 PM.
WORKAROUND:
Click INTO that field and copy and paste the data from INSIDE that field the. It will paste in the same format as displayed. Just highlighting the cell, then copying will give you the incorrect format.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future version of Toad for Oracle.
This is an issue with Toad 11.6 and older (tested to 9.7)
