When working in Toad, the Statement Processing window pops up periodically and consistently. I may or may not be running anything at the time and it still comes up. What is processing and how do you make it stop?
Automatic refresh setting of Session Browser causing periodic refreshes and the "Statement Processing" window to popup.
The Session Browser has a refresh rate field and toggle button at the top of the browser. The refresh rate can be changed and the automatic refresh option can be disabled or enabled.
The Statement Processing window will come up if it takes longer than a few milliseconds to retrieve the information that is needed. The longer the statement takes to run, the longer the window will stay up.
RESOLUTION 1:
Disable/uncheck the option for automatic refresh. It is the check box noted as "Refresh" next to the refresh rate field.
Remember to manually refresh when you go back to the session browser window for information.
RESOLUTION 2:
Increase seconds for refresh rates so it does not happen as often.
RESOLUTION 3:
Close the session browser window if it is not being used.
The "Statement Processing" window notes that a process is running. Depending on how long it takes to finish on the Oracle end, this will stay up. There is a cancel button, but again, depending on what step the Oracle process it at, the statement may or may not be canceled immediately. This will depend on the Oracle end.
In general what cause this popup could be various things. Most often a user will come across this popup when trying to run a query or choosing to process something in the Toad gui.
If this still occurs while not doing anything in Toad, it could be an automatic refresh setting, as in the case of the Session Browser noted in "Resolution"
