How to display control characters (i.e. tabs, spaces, carriage returns).
View | Toad Options | Editor | Display | "Show Control Characters".
This will display control characters in editor windows. This will not display in the data grid. To view the characters in the data, open the popup editor window for the data.
The popup editor also has a Hex view that will shows the control characters in Hex notation.
Tabs can be set to act as a tab or spaces. The setting is under View | Toad Options | Editor | Behavior | Tabs. Adjusting the settings here can change how the tab is displayed. If set as spaces, multiple space control character will be used. If set as tab, a tab control character will be used.
