Tuning options in Optimizer toolbar are grayed out (Optimize, Generate Virtual Indexes, etc...). (4231890)

When working in Toad's SQL Optimizer, the main tuning tools in the tool bar like Optimize, Generate Virtual Indexes, Get Best Practices and others are grayed out. The scenario explorer has the Original SQL noted and the license key include the tuning option.

The original SQL to be optimized and tuned is not entered into the Optimizer under SQL Text | Original SQL (center pain of the SQL Details layout).

Manually enter the SQL statement that needs tuning into the SQL Text section of the SQL Details layout. This is the middle pane of the window. Once a statement is entered the tools should be enabled on the toolbar.

Note: The SQL statement can be carried over into the SQL Optimizer through Toad's editor if the SQL statement is entered into the editor and the Tuning icon on the toolbar is used to launch Toad. Launching Optimizer through the Database menu drop down | Optimize option will not carry over the statement.
