Description
After installing TOAD for Oracle, attempting to connect to the Oracle database for the first time by giving the user name and password, and database name, the following error appeared:
"error while trying to retrieve text for error ora- 01019" -
Resolution
Reset User Files folder.
Toad for Oracle 9.6.1 or Below:
1. Close Toad.
2. Browse to default folder: C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\.
3. Locate the User Files folder and rename it to "User Files_OLD".
4. Re-launch Toad and log on.
Toad for Oracle 9.7 or Higher:1. Close Toad.
2. Browse to default folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\9.7\.
3. Locate the User Files folder and rename it to "User Files_OLD".
4. Re-launch Toad and log on.
