Pressing the Format Code button does not align statements with other statements to the same column or it will jumble the entire script code in the Editor and thus look awful to look at.
Bug with the QP5.dll (v5.5115) file.
WORKAROUND:
Install Toad for Oracle 9.6.1 in a new folder to re-format the code correctly again:
A. To download Toad for Oracle 9.6.1:
1. Visit www.quest.com
2. Go to Support | Downloads & Updates
3. If you have a Supportlink account already, log in. If you do not have one already, click the Register button and follow the instructions to register.
4. Type Toad in the product search field, choose Toad for Oracle from the drop down list, and press GO.
5. On the left, under Product, choose Toad for Oracle 9.6
6. Click the name of the Toad executable you want to download.
a. (Usually Toad for Oracle v9.6.1.1 Commercial Installer)
7. Choose which directory you would like the installation media to be downloaded to.
B. To install Toad for Oracle 9.6.1 in a new folder:
1. Launch the Toad 9.6 Commercial Installer.exe file.
2. During installation leave the default path of C:\Program Files\Quest Software.
3. On the next step of the installation, look at the Installation Directory: and change it to: [NEW]C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle 9.6 from the drop-down list.
4. Continue on with the installation as normal.
5. Launch Toad and enter your License Key and Site Message.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix to be released in a future version of Toad for Oracle.
In Toad for Oracle 9.7.2, the Formatter now uses QP5 to format, where as Toad 9.6.1 or below uses the Formatter Plus back-end.
