Toad for Oracle version 2025 R2 release has introduced integration with GitHub Copilot.
An AI-powered code generation assistant - AI Code Preview that lives directly inside Toad’s SQL Editor window. Using the power of GitHub Copilot, Toad's Editor becomes an AI Editor where AI Code takes natural language prompts from the user and turns them into fully functional SQL and PLSQL code.
AI features are available to all license holders. Follow the steps below to get started:
1. Upgrade to the latest edition of Toad from here.
2. Verify your current licenses. In Toad open Help | Licensing window.
- If the product edition states: "AI". For example: "Toad for Oracle Base AI Subscription" (See below attached screenshot) then login to online License Portal with license admin rights to activate and use AI features. View video for configuration steps.
- If you don't have an AI license, then from the top-right corner of Licensing window, click Sign In and Sign In again. In the browser, sign in with your Quest account or create a new one.
- Back in Toad, your licensing window will automatically update and display your new AI trial license. The license edition will show as “Toad for Oracle DBA AI Subscription.” AI features are ready to be used.
- If you don't see a Sign In option or if you are already signed in to the product, then contact ToadBetaTeam ToadBetaTeam@groups.quest.com team to obtain a trial license.
