Description
During a Toad for DB2 installation, the install fails with a failure in creating DB2 global registry.
The following error appears in the install log:
'An error occurred while initializing the Profile Registry. The return value is "-2029059760". Contact your technical service representative.' -
Cause
This is an IBM issue and there is an APAR JR26658 for this :

The reason of failure is that an incorrect registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\IBM\DB2\InstalledCopies\DB2V8 was created by the installation of v9 Info Center on the system with v8 DB2 installed. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
Remove the incorrect registry
HKLM\SOFTWARE\IBM\DB2\InstalledCopies\DB2V8 from the system.
