Description

When attempting to connect to a Sybase IQ or SQL Anywhere database using the ASE native connection provider, the following error message is displayed:

"The following Auto-Connection failed:"
"SQL Anywhere Error -143: Column '@@pagesize' not found"
Cause

Connections to Sybase IQ or SQL Anywhere are only supported via ODBC.
Resolution

RESOLUTION:

Please use an ODBC 3.0 compliant driver to connect to your Sybase IQ database, which should be available in any client workstation. If not, you can find an appropriate ODBC from the Sybase ID website.
Once you have installed the appropriate ODBC driver you can follow the steps in the Help menu to create the connection to the database:
Help | Toad Help | Manage Connections | Create New Connections | Create ODBC Connections.

STATUS
Toad for Data Analysts 3.0 now supports native connections to Sybase IQ and Sybase SQL Anywhere. ODBC Connectivity to Vertica has also been added. Please refer to the requirements section of the Release Notes for the specific versions supported.
