The following error occurs when trying add a 'day of the week' rule to a Transform & Cleanse
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Cause

Toad is trying to generate SQL for the rule but this is causing an exception
Resolution

WORKAROUND
To workaround the issue, add a rule that disables sql generation. Below is an example where a calculated column is added and the "Use SQL Transform" is deselected.
