Toad is showing the wrong character when opening a SQL script with Unicode characters.
For example:
Original code: Select * from DatabaseName where user = "Sébastien"
Error after opening in the Editor: Select * from DatabaseName where user = "Sébastien"

Cause
Working with encoding type which, by default, is western european (windows) -
Resolution
1. Go to Tools|Options|Editor|General
2. Change the File encoding type to Unicode (UTF-8)
3. Click Apply and then OK.
