RESOLUTION #1:
First, check and see if correct supported .NET Framework is installed. If it is install, see if it is turn on.
To turn on the Microsoft .net Framework, do the following:
a. Click start-Control Panel > Programs and Features.
b. Click Turn Windows features on or off.
c. Now select “Microsoft .net Framework 3.5.1". You have to expand each component and check the ones you want.
d. Restart the computer and check if the issue is fixed.
RESOLUTION #2:
Reset or Rename the Toad Data Point (TDP) user files folder:
1) Fully exit Toad Data Point (TDP).
2) Go to:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_USER>\Application Data\Quest Software\
Vista or 7: C:\Users\<YOUR_USER>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\
3) Rename the “Toad Data Point 3.x” folder to “Toad Data Point 3.x OLD”.
4) Start TDP.
5) If asked if you want to ‘migrate’ settings from previous versions, choose CANCEL.
6) Check if your TDP seems to have been reset to factory defaults.
7) Re-test the issue.
NOTE: If you want to transfer back your Saved Connections or Connections History or any other settings, see below. Re-test and ensure the issue is resolved first before doing these steps.
1) Fully exit Toad Data Point (TDP) again.
2) Go to the OLD “Toad Data Point 3.2 OLD” folder you renamed previously.
3) Perform a Copy on the “Connections.xml” file (make a BACKUP of this file just in case of errors).
4) Go to the NEW “Toad Data Point 3.2” folder that was just created by TDP.
5) Paste the “Connections.xml” file in there.
6) Start TDP and you should now have your previous Saved Connections in the log-in screen.
