Error, "Net: Invalid SID" when connecting to 10g RAC database via Direct Connect -
Description
I'm connecting to my 10g RAC database via Direct Connect in Toad for Data Analysts and I'm entering my SERVICE_NAME, but the only option in Direct Connect is SID, thus I get the the error below:
Net: Invalid SID
How do I get my SID?

Resolution
Open the SQL Plus editor and run the following query:
select * from gv$instance;,Use the value under the INSTANCE_NAME column for the appropriate HOST_NAME in question. This will be the value for the SID in the Direct Connect window.
