Configuring client and media group memberships

On the Manage User and Group Accounts page, click Client and media group memberships.
For local users, select the Users tab, and for groups, select the Groups tab.

Add or remove the client and media groups, in Editing Group Memberships for User page.

Client group memberships

To add or remove the client groups, MSP and tenant administrator needs to perform the following:

Grant access to client groups: To grant access to specific client groups, select the groups in the Not a member of list, and click Join. The selected client groups are moved to the Member of list.

Media group memberships

To add or remove the media groups, MSP administrator needs to perform the following:

Grant access to media groups: To grant access to specific media groups, select the media groups in the Not a member of list, and click Join. The selected media groups are moved to the Member of list.
Grant access to all media groups: To allow a user access to all the media groups of NetVault Backup server select the check box.

Click Apply to save the group membership information for the user, and return to the user settings page.

Granting privileges and quota

On the Manage User and Group Accounts page, click Privileges and Quotas.
For local users, select the Users tab, and for groups, select the Groups tab.

User Privileges

To grant or revoke user privileges, do the following:

Grant all privileges: To grant all privileges to a user account, select the User is granted ALL privileges check box.
Grant specific privileges: To grant specific privileges, select the privileges in the Denied list, and click Add. The selected privileges are moved to the Granted list.
Assign presets: To assign a predefined or user‑defined preset, select the Preset in the Privileges Presets list, and click Load. A predefined Preset can be identified by a trailing symbol in its name.
You can assign only one Preset. If you load a new Preset, the Granted list is overwritten with the new set of privileges.

Media Quota

To set the media quota for a user, configure the applicable option:

Infinite: This option is selected by default. To allow access to infinite amount of media, use this option.
Up to: To set the quota limit, select this option. Type or select the amount of media that is available to the user. The usage quota is specified in terabytes.

Job Quota

To set the job quota for a user, configure the applicable option:

Infinite: This option is selected by default. To allow access to infinite number of jobs, use this option.
Up to: To set the quota limit, select this option. Type or enter the maximum number of jobs the user can perform.

Click Apply to save the group membership information for the user, and return to the Manage User and Group Accounts page.

Setting up notification profile

On Manage User and Group Accounts page, click Notification Profile.
For local users, select the Users tab, and for groups, select the Groups tab.

E-mail

Select this method to send an email notification to the user when the event occurs. The user notifications are delivered to the email ID configured in the E-mail-1 box on the User Details page.

Windows Pop-up Message

Select this method to display pop-up messages to the user when the event occurs. This method is only supported on Windows-based clients. The pop-up messages are not displayed if a firewall or any other tool is configured to block such messages. The pop-up message notification method is not available in the recent versions of Windows.

Click Apply to save the user details, and return to the Manage User and Group Accounts page.

On the Manage User and Group Accounts page, select the user account, and click Modify Details.
