Installing and Configuring Foglight for NMS Integration

Foglight™ for NMS Integration monitors the health of your Foglight NMS environment by tracking the resource consumption of networks devices such as switches and routers, and by forwarding alerts from the monitored environment to the Management Server. This section contains information about system requirements and takes you through the installation procedure, step by step.

Requirements and Compatibility

This section describes the components that are required to successfully integrate Foglight for NMS Integration with the Management Server. For complete version and compatibility details, see the Foglight for NMS Integration Release Notes.

Foglight Management Server

The cartridge is installed on the Management Server, providing in-depth insight into the health of your monitored environment.
Before installing the cartridge, ensure that the Management Server is properly installed and configured. For installation details, refer to the Installation and Setup Guide and the Administration and Configuration Guide.

Foglight Agent Manager

The Agent Manager component collects data from monitored hosts and sends it to the Management Server. The Foglight for NMS Integration can monitor the Foglight NMS server remotely. For that reason, the Agent Manager does not need to be installed on the Foglight NMS server that you want to monitor. The Management Server includes an embedded Agent Manager instance that starts and stops with the server.
