Administering monitoring agents and collected data

The Administration tab of the Office 365 Environment dashboard allows you to perform administrative tasks, including:

On the navigation panel, under Dashboards, click Office 365 > Office 365 Environment.

Click the Administration tab.

The Administration tab includes the following components, and allows you to perform administrative tasks, as follows:

Deploy Agent Package: Deploy the Foglight for Office 365 agent package, create agent instances on one or more servers at a time, activate or deactivate the agents, and start and stop collecting data. For more information, see Deploy the Foglight for Office 365 agent package.
Office 365 tab: Add and configure Foglight for Office 365 agents on one or more servers. For additional information, see Managing Foglight for Office 365 agents and Configuring Foglight for Office 365 agent properties.
ADFS tab: Add and configure ADFS agents on one or more servers. For additional information, see Managing ADFS agents and Configuring ADFS agent properties.

Agents management table

The Office 365 tab and ADFS tab contain the following information for each configured agent instance.

Use the selection check boxes to select agent instances for activation/deactivation, starting/stopping data collection, editing properties, or removal.

Status

Indicates whether the agent instance is activated. A green check mark in this check box indicates that the agent is active.

Collecting Data

Indicates whether the agent instance is currently collecting data. A green check mark in this check box indicates that the agent is collecting data.

Domain Name

Displays the domain name of the Foglight for Office 365 agent instance.

Host Name

N/A

The fully qualified domain name (myServer.myDomain.com) of the target server from which data is to be collected.

Agent Name

Displays the name of the Foglight for Office 365 agent instance.

Displays the name of the ADFS agent instance.

Agent Manager

Displays the name of the Foglight Agent Manager Host assigned to the Foglight for Office 365 agent instance.

Displays the name of the Foglight Agent Manager Host assigned to the ADFS agent instance.

Version

Displays the agent version.

Upgradable

Indicates whether the agent is up to date or can be upgraded.

Log File

Click the Log File icon in this column to download the agent log.

Credentials

Click the Edit icon in this column to update the domain credentials.

N/A

Consent

Click the Edit icon in this column to update the agent permissions to use Foglight for Office 365 APIs.

Click the Edit icon in this column to update the ADFS agent properties and credentials.

Agents management toolbar

Use the buttons at the top of the Agents management table to manage your Foglight for Office 365 and ADFS agent instances, as described in the following table.

Create and assign credentials for Foglight for Office 365 agents.

Create and assign credentials for ADFS agents.

Select to activate the selected agent instance(s).

Select to deactivate the selected agent instance(s).

Select to start collecting data on the selected agent instance(s).

Select to stop collecting data on the selected agent instance(s).

Select to delete the selected agent instance(s).

Search for a Foglight for Office 365 agent using the Search filter.

Search for an ADFS agent using the Search filter.
