About this release

Quest NetVault Backup (NetVault Backup) Plug‑in for VMware (Plug‑in for VMware) 11.4.5 is a minor release, with enhanced features and functionality. For complete product documentation, visit https://support.quest.com/technical-documents.

New features

New features in Plug‑in for VMware 11.4.5:
•
Added support for VDDK 6.5 U2. (DNVMWARE-1757)
•
Added support for Extents File System (XFS) versions 2 and 3 (v2 and v3) on Linux and UNIX. (DNVMWARE-1332, DNVMWARE-1778 (26989))
•
Added support for policy management by using the My Virtual Environment node. Requires use of NetVault Backup 11.4.5 or later. (DNVMWARE-1756)

The following is a list of enhancements implemented in Plug‑in for VMware 11.4.5.

Added support for automatically turning on power to a renamed VM after successful completion of a restore.

DNVMWARE-1768

Updated the default setting for the Perform File Level Indexing option to change it from selected to cleared. If you want to update an existing Backup Selection Set that was created before 11.4.5 to use the new default, you must browse the plug-in once on the NetVault Backup Selections window.

To do so, complete the following steps:

Click Create Backup Job.

Next to the Selections list, click Create New.

Open the NetVault Backup Client on which the plug-in is installed, and select VMware Plugin.

In the Actions list, click Open.
This process automatically updates the setting to the default, which clears the selection.

Click Cancel.
