Manage Jobs (Batch Optimize)

To manage a job

  1. Select the Batch Optimize SQL tab in the main window.
  2. Select a batch from the Batch List node in the Batch Job List pane.

  3. Select a job in the Job List pane.

    Tips:

    • Right-click a job and select Optimize Job to extract and optimize SQL statements from jobs of the selected batch.

    • Right-click a job and select Abort Selected to stop the optimization process for the selected job.

    • Right-click a job and select View Source to display the source code for the selected job.

To view the best alternative

  1. Select the Batch Optimize SQL tab in the main window.
  2. Select a batch from the Batch List node in the Batch Job List pane.

  3. Select a job from the batch node.

  4. Select a SQL statement in the SQL List pane.

    Note: The best alternative SQL text and execution plan are only shown for statements with a completed SQL status.

    Tips:

    • Right-click a statement and select Optimize to optimize statements in the selected job.

    • Right-click a statement and select Test Run SQL to test run statements in the selected job.
    • Right-click a statement and select Abort Selected to stop the optimization or execution process for the selected statement.

Filter Columns

To filter a column

» Click to the right of the column header and select a filtering option.

Note: When filtering is applied to columns, displays to the right of the column header. A Filter panel also displays at the bottom of the grid that describes applied filters as illustrated in the following:

Tips:

  • Click in the Filter panel to clear a filter or right-click a filtered column and select Clear Filter.

  • Click in the Filter panel to enable or disable a filter.

  • Click in the Filter panel to select a previously defined filter.
