Process Affinity Dialog

For systems with multiple CPUs, the process affinity, which can be set via the Windows Task Manager, specifies the CPUs that are permitted to run the current process. Limiting the CPUs that are permitted to run a specified process limits the number of cache reloads performed, and may improve the performance of systems operating under heavy load.

To open the Process Affinity dialog

Open the Processes drilldown. Right click the process and select Configure Affinity. Processes Page

To configure affinity

Select the CPUs that have been permitted to run the selected process.

Note: To enable Spotlight on Windows to report CPU usage accurately for the process, select all the (enabled) check boxes that correspond to the CPUs where the process is permitted to run.
