Top Level Tabs in the Client Application Analysis drilldown

Tabs at the top level of the Client Application Analysis drilldown are the Client Applications tab and Criteria tab:

  • Client Applications tabThis tab lists all applications currently connected to the database, database partition, or instance you are monitoring. When the drilldown is launched from the home page of a specific database or partition, the tab lists applications connected to that database or partition only. When the drilldown is launched from the instance home page, the tab lists applications connected to all active databases and partitions in the instance. You can scan information in the tab's status and statistics columns to quickly identify applications with potential problems.—

  • Criteria tabThis tab lets you define criteria for filtering the list in the Client Applications tab. Filtering allows you to narrow the scope of the list in order to focus on certain applications. For example, you might filter the list to see applications with the most timeouts or the most lock waits.—

Tip: In addition to filtering the Client Applications tab, you can use various display features to control how information is shown. You can organize columns from left to right, hide and show columns, and sort the tab by values in a certain column. To sort by a certain column, click the column header. Being able to sequence and sort columns in different ways allows you to quickly identify different performance problems.
