Configuration Page

Note: Available for Oracle 10.2 and later.

The Configuration page shows the services defined for the Oracle RAC cluster, and their deployment.

To open the Configuration page

  1. Select the Spotlight on Oracle RAC connection in the Spotlight Browser.
  2. Click Services | Configuration.

Column

Description

Instance The database instance where the service is deployed.
Service The name of the service.
Blocked? Is the service on this instance blocked from accepting new connections?
Connection Load Balance Goal

The load-balancing method used to determine how to distribute new connections to instances in the cluster.

  • LONG — For applications that have long-lived connections.
  • SHORT — For applications that have short-lived connections.
Workload Goal

The load-balancing method used to determine how to direct work requests to instances in the cluster.

  • NONE.
  • SERVICE_TIME — Directs work requests to instances according to response times.
  • THROUGHPUT — Directs work requests to instances according to the percentage of total response time that the CPU consumes for the service.
Creation Date The creation date for the service.
HA Events Enabled?

Are AQ (Advanced Queuing) notifications sent for HA (High Availability) events (YES or NO)?

Network The name of the network.
DTP Flag

This flag (Y or N) indicates whether the service is for DTP (Distributed Transaction Processing) transactions.
