Error log entries do not match due to special characters, brackets -
Description
Customers report having no success when trying to match, or ignore an error log entry which includes certain special characters:
Login failed for user 'spotlight'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: <local machine>]

Cause
The square brackets are considered a special character which cannot be used on the match or ignore list, this has been identified as defect SES-2051.

Resolution
WORKAROUND:
The special character % can be used as a wildcard in place of the square brackets to match the entry on the error log entry or the ignore list, an example of how the entry should look once the wildcards are used below:
Login failed for user 'spotlight'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. %CLIENT: <local machine>%
