I selected Plan Control but when I tried to connect I got the error:
"Connection not allowed. The Plan Control Session can only be used in Oracle 11G or later. Connecting to any earlier versions would not be allowed."

Resolution
You can only use Plan Control mode with an Oracle 11g connection. Plan Control mode uses the SQL Plan Management feature introduced in Oracle 11g to optimize execution plans and deploy plan baselines for SQL statements without changing the original source code. This feature is particularly useful for third-party applications where you do not have access to the source code.
