Unhandled Exception at startup - I/O error 123 when creating template with special character in t (4323793)

Erorr received when launching SQL Navigator:

"Unhandled Exception at startup - I/O error 123"

Then many "Access Violation at address 77F69ECD in module 'ntdll.dll'. Write of address 00455710." errors are received.

This happens when creating a template with a special character in the name.

SQL Navigator doesn't like the special character, i.e. a star (*) in the name for a template. Currently code template name doesn't accept space in the name.

WORKAROUND:

Remove the problem template:

1. Go to C:\Document and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Quest Software\SQL Navigator\Template.

2. Edit the following two files removing the reeferences of the problem template:
- ShortcutNames.dat
- Template.dat

STATUS:

Enhancement request submitted to development to provide a warning for the special character.
