I recently upgraded to SQL Navigator 6.6 and now when just performing a simple select all query of a table of only 4,000 rows, it now causes SQL Navigator to hang up or freeze. There's no error that pops up.
I browsed the error.log and I see the following message at the time of the freeze:
v6.6.0 2012-03-29 08:31:14 Exception EWin32Error in module sqlnavigator.exe at 00013818. Win32 Error. Code: 5.
Access is denied.
I have tried to set the "Run as Administrator" option and even turned off the UAC on any Windows 7 machines and the issue does not occur as often, but still happens.
WORKAROUND: Delete the History information in the DB Explorer.
1. In the code editor, in the Tool box area, click on the History panel.
2. Click on any entry in the history list, then press CTRL+A on the keyboard to select All.
3. Then press the Delete button.
Alternatively, click the Clean Up button, then select the 'All' radio button, then click Delete Now button.
STATUS:
Waiting for a fix in a future release of SQL Navigator.
