Is Spotlight on SQL Server able to view the entire set of Windows Event Viewer logs, specifically the "Application and Services Logs." ?
Users often need to troubleshoot or monitor system-wide events and services logs for deeper insights into system health and performance. Relying solely on Spotlight on SQL Server can therefore leave gaps in log analysis and event monitoring.
Spotlight is able to display and retrieve the main data from the Windows Event Logs. These are the events shown in the Application Logs, Services Logs, Security Logs and Powershell Logs.
However it isn't able to display the data seen in the 'Application and Services Logs', from the Event Viewer in Windows.
To access the complete set of Application and Services Logs, please use the Windows Event Viewer or consider a dedicated log management solution. Spotlight on SQL Server continues to provide access to Windows and SQL Server-specific events in the Application Log and error logs but does not replace the need for broader event log monitoring.
