Reports can be generated in the Spotlight Client using the Report Viewer or deployed to SQL Server Reporting Services where they can be viewed in a web browser. Deployment to SQL Server Reporting Services supports Reporting Services 2008 and above. The Spotlight Client report viewer displays reports using SQL Server 2005 and 2008 rdl files.
The sentence “The Spotlight Client report viewer displays reports using SQL Server 2005 and 2008 rdl files” should be “The Spotlight Client report viewer displays reports created by SQL Server Data Tools or Business Intelligence Development Studio”
