Upgrading to Spotlight on SQL Server v10.5 or later results in the error logs for all monitored SQL instances to be filled with the message:
"Using 'dbghelp.dll' version '4.0.5'". This is causing false alarms, and filling the logs.
Cause
This is a known issue due to a MS SQL Server bug. Please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2878139
It will become more prevalent in Spotlight starting in v10.5 and later because it uses extended events to get data from SQL Server.
Resolution
A bug in SQL Server causes it to log this message every time a certain extended events function is called. Spotlight on SQL Server now uses extended events to gather certain data from SQL Server. Extend events is the recommended method by Microsoft as a replacement for using a SQL Profiler trace.
This message can be ignored because it is informational only. It can be fixed by applying a Cumulative Update to the problematic instance. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2878139
