How to trigger alarm actions at every percentage increase for the space utilization?
Description

Customers report that when the database utilizes more than 95% of log space the spotlight however it does not keep sending notifications everytime a percentage increases as desired.
Cause

The alarm action event is only triggered by a change in the severity, if the medium or high severity thresshold does not have intermediate informational steps inbetween, the alarm actions wont be triggered as each increment is seen as part of the same severity event.
Resolution

RESOLUTION:
1- Open the config / alarm / edit the multiple severity alarm in question
2- Add additional informational severities and modify the thressholds so that the increment in the percentage changes the severity alternating between medium / informational / medium
or high / informational / high
Note: keep in mind that the severities are grouped by severity, not by their thresshold value so you will need to scroll up and down to create and modify new severities, however if done correctly you will need the informational light blue bars alternating between the orange or red severities for medium or high.
3- Save the changes and create an alarm action, and make sure it includes the informational severity so that the additional notifications can be sent.
