Why does Spotlight need to create an user in the database? -
Resolution
Spotlight on Oracle needs to install some objects in the Spotlight schema which are used to collect performance metrics and perform calculations. For example Archivelog calculations.
This is a requirement for the tool as you can see in the getting started guide:Spotlight on Oracle connects to the Oracle database system through the Spotlight user.
Note that you can create a new user or convert the account of an existing user on the Oracle database to use Spotlight .
