After upgrading client machine from XP to Windows 8, user can no longer make Windows connection. Login account is part of Admin group of monitored machine.
Error received:
"80070005 Error: Access Denied
The server you are Trying to connect to About did not accept your user name and / or password.
You have already connected to "..." using different logon details. Subsequent connections using different details are not supported by Windows.
Either connect using the same details, or do not Specify a user name and password (Windows Will use the existing connection.)
Error 1219: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again."
WORKAROUND:
1. Add client machine local account to Admin group of monitored host as well
OR
2. Run Spotlight using ‘Run As’ option and use login account used for Windows connection
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in future release of Spotlight on Oracle.
