RESOLUTION 1:
Try to connecting to server by using server name and by server IP address.
From the machine where Spotlight client is installed, open a Windows Explorer and enter \\> (e.g the monitored host name). If an error "Windows cannot find '\\hostname'" is displayed, try using \\ address> instead (e.g. \\192.1.1.1). If that still fails, then see below to ensure that the "File and Printer Sharing" service is enabled and running on the monitored host.
Please use C:\Windows\System32\wbem\wbemtest.exe to test the issue with you Windows host. Use the youtube video below to test:

RESOLUTION 3:
Verify the monitored server has the ability to run WMI queries:
1. Test monitored server WMI availability:
a. Login to the monitored server
b. Click Start, click Run, type wmimgmt.msc, and then click OK. Right-click WMI Control (Local), and then click Properties. Server information should be displayed.
c. In Computer Management screen, on the left of this screen, select Services and Applications | WMI Control and then Action | Properties from the menu at the top. A dialog box will appear. This dialog confirms that from this PC the server is available and that WMI queries can be run. The output in the dialog gets generated by a WMI query.
2. Test remote WMI availability:
a. Login to the client machine where Spotlight is installed
b. Click Start, click Run, type wmimgmt.msc, and then click OK.
c. Right-click WMI Control (Local), and then click Connect to another computer.
d. Click Another computer, and then enter the name of the remote computer.
e. Provide the user credentials used in Spotlight - click Change, Click OK.
f. Right-click WMI Control (remote system name), and then click Properties.
g. Server information should be displayed.
RESOLUTION 4:
1. Login to the client machine where Spotlight is installed
2. In the Computer Management screen, select the menu item at the top called Action | Connect to another computer.
3. In the Another Computer field, please enter the server name and click on OK.
If there is no error at this point, then the server should be available for monitoring by Spotlight - proceed with steps below. If not, then it is suggested that the PCs network settings need to be examined.
RESOLUTION 5:
1. Login to the client machine where Spotlight is installed
2. Run Regedt32.exe
3. Click File | Connect Network Registry
4. Enter the monitored hostname and the user credentials
5. The monitored host's registry keys should be displayed
6. If an error occurs, ensure that the "Remote Registry" service is running
