Sp_monitor drops out and will not run, reports the following output;
sp_monitor 2130 - Starting Monitor
sp_monitor 2130 - 08/20/2007 13:45:12 -Checking Config File
sp_monitor 2130 - Checking Process Status
sp_monitor 2130 - Process Status OK
sp_monitor 2130 - Checking Event Log
sp_monitor 2130 - Exception Error In Monitor
sp_monitor 2130 - Shutting Down Monitor
If you do not cycle the event_log it will eventually grow too large for sp_monitor, and it will report these errors.
Renaming the event_log file will enable it to be preserved, if this is desired, and a new log will be created. Sp_monitor will then run if the size of the event_log is the issue.
Windows based systems may need sp_remote shutdown for the event_log to be renamed whilst SharePlex is still running.
