Core dump while running the mss_setup for SharePlex for SQL server -
Description
While running mss_setup for SharePlex for SQL Server, It core dumped with following error showed up on the screen:
"segmentation fault - core dumped".
Following error found from Event Viewer:
SmartHeap detected error 14 (MEM_BAD_POINTER) for the pointer 0x0000000000000009. Error location unavailable. [ora_setup.exe (.\malloc.c:775) PID=4816 TID=4132]While running mss_setup for SharePlex for SQL Server, It core dumped with following error showed up on the screen:

Cause
Issue stems from multiple sp_cop (port) running on the server and the port you used for SQL server is not the first one installed on the server. When mss-setup is ran with multiple sp_cop running, SharePlex always picks the proddir for first port that was installed on the server.It was due to there are multiple sp_cop (port) running on the server and the port you used for SQL server is not the first one installed on the server. When we run mss-setup with multiple sp_cop running , we always pick proddir for first port that installed on the server.So another port will need to be specified when running mss-setup. -
Resolution
Workaround:
Run mss_setup with -r option for the port #.
An example:mss_setup -r2200
Note: 2200 above is the port # for the shareplex instance for SQL Server.
