ora_setup: 12032 - OCIServerAttach failed with ORA-1804 [ora_setup] [module osp] -
Description
When running ora_setup in Windows environment, the following errors are observed:
Enter password for the DBA account, which will not echo:
connecting--This may take a few seconds.
validating user name and password. . . This may take a few seconds.
Error! Unable to login using the user name and password just entered.
The corresponding entry in the event_log for the above failure is:
ora_setup: 12032 - OCIServerAttach failed with ORA-1804 [ora_setup] [module osp]

Cause
The ora_setup is not able to parse ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID from registry correctly. -
Resolution
The following workarounds can be tried:
A:
Set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID as system environment variables instead of Registry variables and then re-run ora_setup.
B:
Uninstall and re-install SharePlex and re-run ora_setup.
If none of the above is helpful, then contact Support for further troubleshooting.
