The 'version full' output shows Oracle as the database though it is an Oracle Open Target. -
Description
When issuing 'version full' from sp_ctrl on an Open Target SharePlex instance, it shows Oracle as the database.The following is an example output from 'version full' when issued from SharePlex 9.2 Open Target instance which shows the database as being Oracle 11g even though Oracle is not a database in this Target:sp_ctrl> version fullSharePlex Version = 9.2.0-b41 (m64, oracle110) -
Cause
The nomenclature is based on the Oracle version around which the builds are generated and has no bearing on the Target database environment. -
Resolution
One need not interpret anything about the database version of the Source and Open Target from the 'version full' output issued on the Open Target.Even though the database version is shown to be Oracle 11g, it is not.It should be noted that the Open Target would work with all supported Open Target databases as well as the supported Source databases and the 'version full' output about Oracle is just a misnomer.This has changed from SharePlex 9.2.1 onward, an example as follows:sp_ctrl> version fullSharePlex Version = 10.0.0-b107 (m64) -
