Procedure to change the Oracle SID of the source database (4296752)

There may be times when there is a need to change the SID of the source database. If Shareplex was replicating before the SID changed, you need to follow certain steps when implementing this.

The following steps are involved. Please be aware that this involves cleaning up the existing replication environment and activating afresh. Not only will it require downtime on source database, it may also involve resync of target database depending on whether there was data in the queue when cleaning up the existing environment.

-Quiet the source and target database
-Shutdown the source and target Shareplex
-Run ora_cleansp on source and target
-Modify the config to change the source Oracle SID
-Bring up the source database with the new Oracle SID
-Run ora_setup on source to add an entry for the new Oracle SID to the paramdb
-Activate the config to implement replication with the new source Oracle SID
