Shareplex not Replicating - "Notice: ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress - no operations ar (4244124)

event_log shows:

Notice: ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress - no operations are permitted

Shareplex is not replicating.

ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress means that Oracle database is either:

1. in the process of shutting down
2. is down at the moment
3. has been bounced without bringing down Shareplex

If Oracle is currently down, then shutdown Shareplex, bring up Oracle and start Shareplex.

If Oracle is up, then bounce Shareplex.

To prevent this in the future, make sure to shutdown Shareplex before shutting down Oracle. The proper order is this:

shutdown Shareplex
shutdown Oracle
start Oracle
start Shareplex
